True humility

Sometimes in random reading, even if I'm not digging the whole book, there is just a part that hits me and I have to read over and over again to really let it sink in. Tonight, it was this quote below and I kept thinking of the Getty song, Speak O Lord, that talks about "true obedience."

"To fulfill your mission will require that you abandon your agenda and accept God's agenda for your life. You can't just "tack it on" to all the other things you'd like to do with your life. You must say, like Jesus, "Father...I want your will, not mine." You yield your rights, expectations, dreams, plans, and ambitions to him. You stop praying selfish prayers like "God bless what I want to do." Instead you pray, "God help me to do what you're blessing!" You hand a blank sheet with your name signed at the bottom and tell him to fill in the details." - Rick Warren

Sometimes I fall into the trap of limiting God into a problem solving, helping me just get through, or a dream list granting...but this is good perspective for true humility....and the cool adventures that can happen.
