You know how sometimes there are just phrases that stick out to you for a while and keep coming up and cause you to ponder?
Well, the most recent of those for me is the phrase hold fast.
Sure, I've heard it before, read about it, and been offered those words of encouragement. But really -- what does it mean, I pondered. It's just one of those funny phrases.
At first glance, it'd be easy to conclude it means to hold quickly -- like hang on tight before you lose it or it runs away.
But, nope that's not it. Rather it means to hold tightly fastened; secure.
Very simply, there it is - hold fast.
